Creating Inspiration

Hey all you crafty Chica's, here are some Vintage lamps that I did for a Really Cool Design Client of mine!  Love her, Love her home, it's so fun to do what you love and love who you work with! 

Being Creative all the while!  These are Swanky marble lamps that I designed and made. 

My two dear friends, Sheila Rumney of Blessed and Distressed and Debi Frazier of Lady L Images helped me with the fabric flowers that I made for the Lamp shades! I had a vision but had not made the fabric flowers/ Burlap Bird nests before, so they taught me and are both excellent teachers..... Much more fun to learn from friends that figure it out on my own!  I highly recomend it!   

I pulled apart a vintage hat and used pieces of that and the Blue and White Linen toile' is the same fabric that I did all the custom bedding and drapes!  It was fun to have an idea and do something original, a One of a Kind, lamps for Kristens guest room.  I think they turned out great. It's always fun to do something new!

Picnics and Polka Dots Bunting Class at The Peacock!

Would you like to learn how to make paper and ribbon bunting and picnic-inspired cupcake toppers for your summer parties?  If you're in the Leavenworth, Kansas area and would like to join me (Michaele Sommerville) and Sheila Rumney for some papercrafting picnic-y and polka-dotty fun, call or drop by The Peacock Cafe (phone:  913-651-9914) to register today!

The class registration, materials and instruction fee is $30.  Participants will make and take party bunting and a set of cupcake toppers.  Don't be surprised if you use these party items as templates for other celebrations and holidays throughout the year: 4th of July, birthdays, weddings, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's, Easter... the possibilities are endless!

Please bring scissors (for cutting paper) and a low temp glue gun and sticks.  I'll provide the paper, ribbon, buttons, fabric, lollipop sticks and instructions!

Women's Retreat Update

Meanwhile, back at the farm...

Last Saturday's Women's Retreat was a wonderfully inspiring time!

Although we only had a few women sign up for classes,

the stormy day did not "rain on our parade"!

The day was filled with creating, connecting, and getting inspired, and Shiela Rumney, class instructor, did a wonderful job in her "Little Bit Rusty" and "Blessed and Distressed" classes, where she taught women how to solder and make vintage charm jewelry as well as other nostalgic memorabilia in mirrors to create a look through the past.
