Somehow, through all of these sack's many travels, they wound-up in our little boutique/restaurant, and are now custom aprons with pockets and linen ruffle detailing:
The greatest part of the story is THIS:
Our dear friend and avid Farmstead/Peacock supporter, Julie Marie, ordered an apron, and after receiving it from us, she was inspired to research the history of the flour/sugar sacks
{all while baking the most beautiful cherry pie!}
Here's the kicker: these sacks, filled with flour and sugar used many years ago for baking wonderful goodies, were originally "shipped" with 52 oxen teams to the very first city in Kansas, also known as...
Leavenworth, Kansas--right where The Peacock Cafe currently resides! That's right--this isn't their first stop here; they've been here before, long ago! We couldn't believe it, and we know it is no coincidence! Everything in life comes full circle from where it once "blossomed".
More than a simple "good luck charm", we consider these aprons a reminder from God to work diligently at all things as if working for Him--because we are!
We hope you've been blessed by this amazing story, and we want to thank Julie Marie {pictured below in her lovely, vintage apron and vintage Farmstead boots} for all of her hard work and creative initiative to give our amazing, custom aprons a blast through their very own past!
